National parks

With all that can be found in the areas surrounding Tadoussac, it was only a matter of time before national parks were established. A maritime estuary, a fjord, mountains and the boreal forest, cliffs, sand dunes and long beaches, diverse flora and fauna, and spectacular scenery…

The Saguenay Fjord National Park and the Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park are dedicated to protecting their wild expanses, and celebrate them by offering visitors many outdoor activities and opportunities to explore.

The Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park

The Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park is renowned as one of the best places in the world to see whales. Several species take advantage of the abundant food in the region to build up their stores of energy. The marine park was created to protect this rich ecosystem, from the seafloor to the water’s surface. No matter the size of the boat, all captains in these waters must obey strict rules in the vicinity of marine mammals.
